It has been a month on my exchange trip to OCAC in Portland. It was announced about a week ago that the school will be closing its degree program at the end of the semester and I am still surprised because this school has SO MUCH to offer in its focus on craft. I’ve learned so much just in these first few weeks, letting go a little when it comes to concept and focussing on all the steps of creating from scratch. The nature here has been such a factor in my inspiration to the mood of my works. The humidity in the air and the creep of the rain and moss makes the city feel like an oozing organism nestled in the hills.
